My name is David McGloin. I am a physicist based in the School of Electrical and Data Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney, Sydney, Australia. I was formerly with the School of Science and Engineering in the University of Dundee, in Dundee, Scotland. This is why my blog is called “Dundee Physics” I am currently a Professor of Optical Physics and Director of Research Programs in the Faculty of Engineering and IT at UTS. This blog represents my own views.

The blog was originally set up for me to discuss aspects of my research and general scientific interest. While this is likely the continuing focus, it may drift into other areas, such as adjusting to life as an immigrant, and musings on the academic life.
